Yoga For Beginners
Yoga for Beginners section is for all those who want to learn Yoga, don’t know where to start from or still think yoga is just “karate in slow motion”. Although surprisingly some of the poses of yoga resemble various moves of martial arts very closely. As a matter of fact yoga exercises can help you attain as much flexibility and stamina as any other form of exercise that you can think of. So set aside your big gym equipments and begin your journey to this fantastic world of yoga which not only seeks just physical well being but a complete holistic harmonizing of mind and body. It is the only form of exercise that not only tones your muscles but also strengthens your mind and soul. In return it’s very little that Yoga asks for, as a beginner in yoga all you need is 30 minutes a day, an open or airy exercise space and a yoga mat or a blanket. As a beginner in yoga might need help of a yoga teacher but you can easily start with a Yoga book or a Yoga DVD to begin with.
Before you begin yoga please bear following perquisites in mind.
- Yoga can be enjoyed by the whole family but young kids, below 12, should only practice short duration Asanas and Yoga postures shouldn’t be maintained for long.
- An ideal beginner of yoga should at least give 30 minutes daily to start with.
- There is no restriction to the time of day you can practice yoga, best time suggested is morning but any other time of day doesn’t make your yoga practice inferior.
- Yoga should be practiced in a calm location which goes without saying should be clean, airy and spacious.
- Wear comfortable clothes, not very loose and don’t sit on bare floor. Always use a mat or blanket.
- Try to maintain a trouble free mind and preferably try to think about all the good moments that you have had in your life. It lifts your mind and helps you concentrate more.
- If suffering from a serious ailment or if you are pregnant, please seek your doctor’s advice before beginning yoga. It is better to begin yoga under supervision of a qualified yoga teacher under these circumstances.

But Yoga is extraordinary, it is such a complete form of exercise that it can not only help you achieve physical health but mental and emotional well being too.
